RAC Bulletin 2011-016E - Mike Kelly, VE3FFK appointed to the National Field Organization Secretariat2011-06-21I am very pleased to introduce the latest addition to the RAC National Field Organization Secretariat. Mike Kelly VE3FFK joins us as EP Canada Advisor. With a wealth of Emergency Preparedness knowledge and experiance, he will be a much needed presence in the Ottawa area in dealing with both the Federal and Provincial governments on matters relating to Wireless Radio Interoperability.Mike has had a long standing relationship with the Canadian Emergency Management College and is the "go to" guy to be registered for their training programs. Special Event Station VY1T - Whitehorse

Special Event station VY1T operated by VY1EI will be on the air from Whitehorse June 29, 2011 to July 1, 2011 for the Grand Opening of the Aeradio Exhibit at the Teslin Historical and Museum Society in Teslin, YT. VY1T will be on the air from Teslin at the George Johnson Museum June 30th from early morning to late afternoon. Look for the station on 20 meters around 14,180 MHz, also may try 14,140 MHz. OARC Hamfest Request for Volunteers

Volunteers are required for the 14th annual OARC Hamfest and Forum, scheduled for Sept. 10 2011 at the Arena on the Carp Agricultural Fairgrounds. OARC members who want to volunteer and who missed the sign-up at recent meetings please e-mail Ed, the Hamfest manager: fleamarket AT oarc.net

Croft Taylor VE3CT (SK) Memorial Service

A memorial service will be held for Croft Taylor on Sat. July 9 2011 at 10:30 AM, at the Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa. Croft was a long-time member of the Ottawa Amateur Radio Club.
